Wednesday, July 15, 2009: Laura and the Fun Bunch Big Band kick-off this summer's City of Bayonne Summer Sounds by the Bay concert series! The Fun Bunch is a swinging 16-piece orchestra playing some great charts by Count Basie, Les Brown, Stan Kenton, Quincy Jones, and then some! The concert will also feature a tribute to our men and women of the United States Armed Services, local color guards will be present, and a historic military vehicle will be on display. More info >>

Larry has a long history of playing with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra, Illinois Jacquet Big Band, and with countless other jazz legends, including the late Earl May. The New Jersey Jazz Society is dedicated to the performance, promotion and preservation of jazz. Founded in 1972, the Society is run by a board of directors who meet monthly to conduct the business of staging our music festivals, awarding scholarships to deserving New Jersey college jazz studies students, conducting the Generations of Jazz programs in local school systems, and inducting pioneers and legends of jazz into the American Jazz Hall of Fame, among other things.

The Society publishes a monthly magazine, Jersey Jazz, which contains feature articles, photos, music calendars, concert reviews, and Society information, and is free with membership.
